FIELD NOTES
Two purses
27 August 2026
FieldHunters keeps two balances and refuses to let them touch. That is the whole economy, and it is the sentence people skip. Coins sit in one purse. Treasures — real bitcoin, counted in dollars on the screen — sit in the other. You cannot buy bitcoin with coins. You cannot cash coins out. You cannot turn a shop payment into a withdrawal. The two numbers are shown separately so they cannot be mistaken for each other, and they still are.
The reason is simple. If shop money could leave, the game would be a cashier. If finds could not leave, the bitcoin would be a skin. We are neither of those. Money you put in buys kit. Money the ground gives up can leave, over Lightning, once it clears ten dollars and we know who we are sending it to.
What coins are for
Most holes give an artefact. You keep it in the collection or you sell it to the Museum. The Museum buys anything, instantly, and never runs out of money. Commons are pocket change. A legendary is a haul. Rarity is the whole price: the counter does not haggle, and there is no player market left to undercut it. Duplicates exist to be sold. The set exists to be kept. That is the only collection decision.
Coins buy coils by the hole, outfits, and curios. They are the grind currency, and they are supposed to feel slow if you will not pay. Everything on the shelf can be earned. Paying skips the wait. That is the honest version of 'free to play' — not a wall in the dirt, a wall in the calendar.
Coins do not withdraw. They never will. A hunter who has a fat coin balance and an empty Treasures line has played the game correctly and has not been cheated. They have kit. Kit is not cash.
What a sealed chest is
Now and then a hole gives up a sealed chest. What is inside is real bitcoin, credited to Treasures. We do not publish what a chest holds or when one drops. Naming amounts would set an expectation the next afternoon cannot always meet, and a player who arrived for a figure leaves the day it is missed. Mystery is the honest hook: you find out when you open it.
There is no wager and no entry fee on that hole. You were holding the spade. Free hunters open chests. A pass makes you luckier, which means you see them more often, not that they are locked. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling a pass with a sentence we do not use.
Treasures pay out over Lightning. The floor is ten dollars. Below that the balance sits and waits for the next chest; we will not send a payment smaller than the rails and the checks are worth. Identity has to be approved before a payout moves. That is not theatre. Bitcoin that leaves this game is real, and real payouts go to a person we can name.
What the shop is not
The shop takes dollars for coils, outfits, and passes. Card, and crypto through DePay. That money buys the thing on the row. It does not convert. It does not top up Treasures. It does not buy a ticket to a chest. If you treat a coil purchase as a deposit, you will be furious later, and the fury will be aimed at a rule that was on the page when you paid.
The two purses are the whole defence against that confusion. One number you can spend here. One number you can take home. Read them as they are labelled. If a screen ever showed them as one pile, that screen would be lying.
