FIELD NOTES

Run

4 November 2025

You are halfway across the hedge when the coil goes bright. Not a soft tick — the kind of sing that makes your thumb hover over Dig before your brain has finished the sentence. Off to the left, another hunter stops walking. Same beep. Same dirt. You both know what that means.

There is no private instance. There is no 'you saw it first' ticket. There is a hole, and whoever stands up out of it keeps what is in it. So you run.

The stupid, perfect ten seconds

Running in FieldHunters is not a cutscene. It is you pointing your boots at a square of grass while someone else does the same, and the whole argument of the game collapses into who starts sooner and who finishes sooner. Bronze is slow on purpose. Fifty seconds is a long time to watch a silver coil sit down on your hole and leave with the piece. You learn that the hard way, once, and then you stop romanticising every beep.

The perfect ones are the empty ones — signal, nobody near, dig, stand up, something cold in the bag. The memorable ones are contested. You start. They start. The bar crawls. You are both wrong about what is under there until one of you is suddenly right, and the other is staring at an empty crater with a coil that still has a charge left and nowhere useful to put it.

What you might pull

Most nights it is a button. A spoon. Museum money. Coins for the next stack of holes. That is the honest loop, and it is still a good evening if you like the race more than the receipt.

And then, rarely, the hole gives up a sealed chest. Real bitcoin. Treasures, not coins. The feed will show it. Someone on the other side of the field will swear. You will open your wallet page and watch a number that is allowed to leave the game — to a normal Bitcoin address, after the floor and the checks — and for a minute the shared field feels exactly as absurd and as good as the pitch said it would.

You do not get that minute by buying a pass. You get it by finishing. Free bronze has opened chests. Mythic coils have dug empties. The ground does not care who paid this month. It cares who stood up first.

Why we built it this way

A solo loot map is easier. Quieter. Kinder to the ego. It is also a slot machine in a hat. FieldHunters keeps the other hunters on the grass because the beep is only half the sport. The other half is the person who turned when you did.

So when the coil sings again tomorrow, do the simple thing. Look left. If the ground is clear, dig. If it is not, decide whether you can win the stand. And if you can — run.
